How To Buy Your First Suit
By: Hendrik Pohl

Whether you are a young professional or fresh out of college, a nice pair of suit is something that you must have in your closet. Owning it brings you a lot of benefits. It is a perfect attire for a formal interview. It can also be helpful if you are out on a date and would like to impress the girl you just met. Above all, a pair of reliable suit is something that you can rely on for many things especially if you want to look better or you feel the need to be noticed.

Most men who are buying a suit for the first time do not have any idea on how to look for the best suit. Others are not even aware that there are certain considerations and limitations in as far as finding the perfect suit are concerned. Here's a guide on how to buy your first suit.

Know your size.
Perhaps the most important thing that you should know before you go to some fancy boutique looking for the perfect suit is knowing your size. It is in fact, the most important of all. The odds of not knowing your size are many. First, you might end up buying the wrong outfit. Secondly, you do not want to cause hassles to yourself and the salesman for having to try on different sizes of suits. Since you are buying one for the first time, making a cheap purchase should never be considered as an option.

Splurge on a good quality.
Even if you are on a tight budget, it is always helpful to buy a suit from a boutique or a specialty store that exclusively sells suits. They know exactly the type of suit that is best for you. You also get a royal treatment wherein you will be ushered to many designs and suit types that will look good on you. Although it will cost you an arm and a leg, the money spent is worth the outfit. Besides, you will be using the tux for several years before you need a new one.

Trust your salesman
If there is someone who can help you with your first suit blues, he is your salesman. You can tell that he is sincere because he never misses in providing you with all the possible options available. A good salesman will also go an extra mile to make you look even beyond what he can offer. More importantly, he is somebody you can always go back to whenever you feel the need of another pair of an elegant suit.

Stick to the classic
Since you only have more than enough to spend for a single suit, it is safe to pick one that you can wear to many occasions. For now, forget about the trend. Instead, focus on how practical your first suit should be. It has something that will match whatever existing accessories you have. Likewise, it must be a suit that must define the real you. It should be a suit that will last a lifetime

Owning your first suit is an experience worth remembering. Think about of how much it can make a big difference in the way you look.
