2011 Gillet Vertigo .5 Spirit: Belgium’s Supercar

Why is it that the rarest supercars seem to all hail from the northern Europe/Scandinavia area? Spyker, Koenigsegg, Zenvo and today’s feature: Gillet.
The Belgian-born automaker has recently introduced the 2011 Vertigo .5 Spirit, a successor to the Vertigo introduced in the 1990s. The new car gets more power thanks to its Maserati-sourced 4.2-liter 420-hp V8 engine (the first Vertigo used a Alfa Romeo V6). Dump that engine into a car that weighs just 2,182 lbs. as a result of a nomex/carbon monoshell chassis, and you’ve got an exotic sure to perform like a supercar.
